Nigeria 1 - 0 Angola AFCON Quarter final match

Nigeria booked their place in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2024 with a narrow 1-0 win over Angola on Friday, February 2, 2024. Ademola Lookman scored the only goal of the game in the first half, converting a low cross from Moses Simon.

The Super Eagles dominated the match and created several chances, but were denied by the Angolan goalkeeper and the woodwork. Victor Osimhen had a goal ruled out for offside by the video assistant referee (VAR) in the second half.

Angola, who reached the quarter-finals for the first time since 2010, had few opportunities to threaten the Nigerian defence. Their best chance came when Zine hit the post after breaking through on goal.

Nigeria, who have won the AFCON title three times, will face the winner of the match between Cape Verde and South Africa in the semi-finals on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
